Martial Art Classes

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Our adult classes are open to complete beginners or to those whom have a wide range of skills and experience. We have a structured fundamentals program which aims to guide the beginner student through all the basic positions, the positional hierarchy, strategy and principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

You will learn how to utilises body weight, grips and leverage to unbalance your opponent and achieve a controlling position leading to a submission (Joint lock or choke), both from standing and ground position.

We also have dedicated class time to those more advanced and for those wishing to further develop their own game. These classes will further expand on fundamental positions while allowing the individual to drill, problem solve and self direct their own learning.

A typical class will involve a warm-up, followed by technical instruction, specific positional sparring or timed sparring rounds.

Often classes will focus on a particular strategy or goal within live sparring. This could be the focus on a particular submission, positional control or detail within a technique. This allows for greater skill development of the chosen technique and faster improvement.

We aim to provide an environment which allows the student to understand their own learning capabilities and develop their own problem solving skills.
